In 2012, we did a show called Boundaries, at the Skissernas Museum in Lund, Sweden. Boundaries was the first thing we did when we came to the lab, and it was intended to be a metaphor for what we wanted to do at the urban scale.
We wrote software to help people to collectively make huge wall drawings.
To do this, we took three steps:
We defined a basic mark, a line or a shape.
We then designed a social process that helped people to make that mark, independently and collectively, in relation to other marks.
And finally, we wrote software to enable that social process.
